To reach Playa Sotavento de Jandia by car, we recommend the easiest access point: Risco El Paso. It is well signposted from Fuerteventura's main road, called FV-2. From the town of Costa Calma, follow the signs for Morro Jable, then Puerto del Rosario. The road is paved all the way to the parking lot and easily passable.

Stunning beaches! We drove from Morro Jable to explore the beach at Sotavento. It only took around 10 to 15 minutes in the car and was well worth the effort. Beautiful sands, clear waters, tiny fish swimming around your feet and gorgeous views. Although popular with locals and tourists, we did not feel it was too crowded.

The best windsurfing and kitesurfing beach in Jandía. In reality, Sotavento is made up of five beaches: La Barca, Risco del Paso, Mirador, Los Canarios and Malnombre. With endless walks next to its clear waters there is no need to wait for low tide. A sand barrier at 100 and 300 metres from the shore creates a lagoon three kilometres long.
